Our client was commissioned to supply two 24 square metre plant platforms to house air conditioning equipment in a warehouse.
Our Client
Our client for this project was Uplands Retail Limited. The plant platforms were part of a larger project undertaken by Uplands Retail for their client, Amazon, for a distribution warehouse in Crawley, West Sussex.
The Challenge
Amazon required a space-efficient solution to house air conditioning equipment in their distribution warehouse.
Aircon equipment can occupy a significant amount of space so the solution was to locate the equipment above the floor on plant platforms. In providing a means to house the equipment above the warehouse floor, the space beneath remained free to use.
Uplands Retail provided us with drawings from which we created a quote. Once our quote was accepted we went on to produce fabrication drawings for our client which were approved for manufacture.
The completed floor was installed at Amazon's warehouse within two days.
And Finally
The overhead space of the warehouse became a space-saving solution for the building’s air conditioning plant that allowed the work areas below to remain free for use as before. Amazon is delighted with the result and the teamwork, communication and work effort produced by USS was commended by the Main Contractor.
